Good Morning to You

One of Amelia's favorite things to do is to wake up Samuel in the morning (or greet him when he awakens). She screams out in a loud high pitched squeal "BABY" then proceeds to try to climb in his crib. Samuel usually giggles and smiles with delight at this greeting. It warms my heart to see my kids like this! I pray they will always be best of friends and want to play/be together.

This picture reminded me of one my mom has of Jim and I in the crib together. Notice the eyes of Amelia...she is trying to smile but always blinks. Oh well.

Note I have also finally added a background to my blog (it's about time, right!) David is home today so I feel I have a little extra time to play around. Thank Goodness for Grandma's (and Grandpa's)

Over the last several weeks we have had some visitors. David was in Chicago for a conference so Grandma came to help out with the kids while I was working. They had a great time playing. Thanks mom for all your help! Mom and I even had some fun doing a sewing project and some shopping when I got an unexpected day off of work.

Grandma Baird came and watched the kids on MLK day when our daycare was closed. She brought presents from Great Nonnie which were enjoyed by all. Amelia and Samuel also had a fun time with Grandma and will enjoy seeing her again President's day.

It pays to wait

Christmas came again for our household. We received money for the kids from Great-Grandma's and were able to get some great deals on after Christmas sales... up to 75% off. I had really wanted to get the Little People Learn about town set but it was $50 full price and didn't seem worth it. I got it for $15 at Target and it is well worth it. Amelia loves it and it keeps her entertained for quite awhile. I love a good deal!

Learning something new!

No, it is not our anniversary, I have learned how to scan pictures!!! David and I received a photo printer, scanner, copier for Christmas from Mom and Dad Baird and I'm finally getting around to trying out this feature. I love it. I'm also quite proud of myself for figuring out how to add these to the blog (it was hard finding the folder) and also scanning them to the right file, etc. I'm not the computer whiz. So here is a look down memory lane at our wedding. When it's 25 below outside it is nice to see these outside pictures.

The reason I have the wedding pictures out is that I'm working on finishing our wedding album for scrapbooking. I had done the professional pictures years ago but now thought I should get all the candids and other misc, ones in there and since the kids are at daycare today I'm trying to get some projects done... so back to scrapbooking I go.

Presents, Good Food, and a snowstorm

Amelia has really gotten into the gift opening thing and now enjoys helping everyone open their gifts. Here she helps Z open his gift from us, a farm set.

Samuel smiles in his swing.. he is holding 2 stuffed animals he got, one from Jim and Cari and one from Great Grandma. It's nice he now has his own stuffed animals.

Zachery and Amelia look over the food set she got from Mom and Dad. We wouldn't let her open it till we got home.

Another snowstorm... each family Christmas we have had this year has been marked by a snowstorm. We had planned to go to Fargo on Saturday afternoon (to be up there for church on Sunday and not have to get up so early) We also thought the kids would enjoy the pool. We drove in blustery conditions and snow to get there.

Amelia would say the drive was well worth it... she talked about the pool all day!

Now the Christmas season has drawn to a close with the last and final celebration. Thanks to my family for a great weekend filled with many special memories (just ask Jim Nelson, right Jim?) It is always so much fun to just be together, enjoy meatballs, bundoist, dozens of cookies, etc . Your generosity and love is so special to us!

Christmas #3-- Fergus Style

This past weekend we were all able to make it up to Fergus for my families Christmas. I headed up with the kids on Thursday (the 1st) and David came on Friday with Jim, Cari and the boys. The 4 Grand kids liked climbing on Grandma and Grandpa's bed and we got some great pictures of them. It is very exciting around the house now with 4 active kids. It proved to be a very busy weekend as we tried to squeeze in all the family traditions.

Saturday morning we opened "stocking gifts" These tend to be fun little presents that Dad and Mom have collected throughout the year ... Dad especially comes up with some "creative" gifts.

Dad (no wait Isaac!!) does some work at this desk. I was laughing so hard I think the camera was shaking. Isaac had left the gift opening and I found him like this. It was priceless!

The kids all sitting down to a meal in the playroom. Mom and Dad have gotten out a bunch of our toys and made a little playroom for the kids. More is added each time we come it seems. The Grandkids sure have fun playing with the kitchen, cars, dolls, books, etc.

More Rock Star

Here is Amelia in the full Rock Star dress up outfit she got for Christmas. Someday I will figure out how to do video and you can watch her opening it and dancing with the microphone. I think she thought it was real because she seemed a bit disappointed when it didn't work. I realized later the daycare lady has a karaoke machine and I think Amelia was thinking it was like that. It is still funny to watch her dance and sing with the mic and also walk around in the shoes. She is such a funny animated child so this fits her perfectly. Good job Samuel at picking out the perfect present for your sister!

Of course all rock stars must look at themselves in the mirror and fix their hair (all while holding bunny!) I love to watch Amelia play.. she is so creative and funny.
