Early Spring Fun

There has been a lot going on around here... Here is a brief re-cap of what we have been up to recently.  Both kids won the pride award at an assembly at our school.  We had been notified that Samuel had won for "being responsible"  and then after names were announced, Amelia also was a winner!!  How glad we were to be there to support both our kids... we are very proud of how they are doing at school.  Above Samuel shakes Principal Wilkens hand... he is not shy..

Palm Sunday.  The kids sang.  I had to work 12 hrs on Easter this year so we did our celebration a week early.

On Monday we headed to Wisconsin Dells to enjoy a week away (spring break).  We loved the Wilderness Resort and all they had to offer... we got arcade tokens and the kids loved it.

Amelia was good at getting animals out of the claw game.

There were 3 indoor water parks connected by indoor sky-ways.. it was ideal.  We loved our accommodations.. a timeshare condo we rented from the owner.  We got some extra freebies by listening to a 2hr presentation on how we could own one of these and politely said no ;)

Kitchen/Dining area... the place also had 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (one with a hot-tub) and laundry.  If staying here this is the way to go!!

Samuel loved playing basketball with the big boys..
We also did several rounds of mini-golf

The weather was great and we had an outdoor horse ride

We mostly cooked in our place, but one night enjoyed one of the restaurants on site...a buffet.  Samuel loved the desserts.

Amelia was not thrilled to meet the Easter bunny

Christmas 2014

The Christmas season is over and tonight the tree will be taken down.  I love Christmas!!  Every year I look forward in anticipation the traditions, family get together's, and memories of the season.  This year I thought I was prepared... shopping was started earlier, I had plenty of free days to do my decorating, baking, and planning.  Then sickness hit.  I came down with the flu and felt yucky for 2 weeks, near the tail end of it the stomach bug hit!!!  Thankfully no one else in the household was affected, but as the one who pushes for all the traditional things I felt like I had been robbed of Christmas and on top of it I had to work on Christmas thus making it feel even weirder.  Yet today on the first Monday of the New Year as I reflect on these pictures of December, I realize we did have a good time....  celebrations were held with each family and our own at home.  We enjoyed great food, fun times together, and really the sickness was before Christmas and didn't impact the actual day (some families I know suffered from this).  I have warm memories of time spent with family, friends, and church.  I'm excited to begin this new year... get organized, back on track with exercise, biblestudy, and all the new adventures it will bring.
