Princess and Prince

Amelia is into everything princess. She loves watching Little Mermaid and Cinderella and also reading the stories. She points out princess things everywhere and really wants a princess backpack right now. She is a true girl!! Lately she has started identifying people as prince or princess too. Here she is with prince Samuel.

Here she is sporting her fashionable shades... you will notice she is wearing her favorite tinkerbell shirt. It was a disaster last week when she coughed so hard she threw up on it and I had to take it off. I think she would wear it everyday if I would let her. She is very into picking her own outfits right now. I never know what combination she is going to come up with... somedays I have to veto the selection. I have no doubt she will be our fashion girl for years to come. Samuel just goes along with the flow and loves the antics of his Diva big sister!

6 months old

Samuel is now 6months old. Here are the latest statistics:
Weight: 18lbs 5 oz (60%)
Height: 27 7/8 (90%)
Head: 17 1/2 ( 70%)
Teeth total: 2 front bottom teeth
The doctor says he is doing well and his torticollos (neck tightening that leads to misshapen head) is looking good and should resolve with the physical therapy we are doing.

Samuel has been such a blessing to our lives. He is such a smiley, funny little man. Mostly he is very content, especially if there are people around to watch his antics. His personality is really starting to come out. He is rolling over and already very active. We have been trying these last few weeks to re-train him as he started waking up at night again. We can't wait to watch him grow and learn new things.

A Wonderful Valentine's Weekend

This weekend David and I were blessed to be able to have a little get-away to downtown Minneapolis. Our daycare was closed for President's day so we asked Grandma (and Grandpa) to watch the kids and figured if they were coming up they might want to come early and watch the kids for the weekend (good logic, right?!). We know Grandparents never mind watching the kids an extra day. So on Saturday afternoon David and I headed out for our mini vacation. This is the first time we have left Samuel (earlier than we left Amelia by the way), but I was looking forward to some time away, a full night of sleep, and some R&R. Our weekend started by watching Fireproof on Friday night (at our house) by the way this is a wonderful movie!! It has some great points about relationships, marriage, and communication. I would highly recommend it. Saturday we went to a totally opposite and turned out somewhat depressing movie... Revolutionary Road. I had wanted to see it because of the Oscar buzz and the actors , but it is a rather depressing film. We have decided the two movies posed a compare and contrast scenario and did cause some great discussion. Next, we headed downtown to the Hilton. We got a room on the executive floor and enjoyed the view and the amenities. It was fun to just hang out in the hotel, watch TV, enjoy the pool, hot tub, and sleep!

Sunday we enjoyed a unique dining experience... The Melting Pot (a fondue restaurant) It was a lot of fun and less crowded than on Valentine's day. We enjoyed a four course meal ( 3 fondue courses- cheese, oil with meats and vegetable, dessert, and salad. ) My favorite was of course the flaming turtle chocolate fondue we enjoyed for dessert.

What a wonderful time away! It felt like we had really gone farther away than the 13miles we were from home. David, thank you for treating me to a wonderful weekend... you always treat me like a princess and you are my prince! (we are very into princess at our house right now!)
