New Floor= New Kitchen

We love our little rambler house for so many reasons, but sometimes it shows it's 60's style. We have slowly done updates and hope to do many more in the years to come. One that I think about a lot is our kitchen. I have grand plans to bump out, add a mud room, fireplace and family room. I don't know if that will ever happen, but it is fun to dream. However, I was getting tired of the old dated linoleum and dated light fixtures. Since we are still a bit away from doing something bigger we decided to address these issues.

One last shot.

A look at my new light fixtures and flooring... a great wood like product that can go over existing floor and is easy to do (according to home depot 70 year old ladies do it in a weekend.)

We have a friend from church who came to help David and loan him his tools and expertise.

I love the end result!!!!

The mess was all worth it!! We also decided to rip out the carpet in the dining room and will "buff" that floor a bit too. Our old rambler got a bit of a face lift and we are loving it!!!

Priceless Princess Memories

This last week Amelia and I took the train downtown to see Disney on Ice Princess Wishes at the Target center. It was a fun mommy/daughter evening.

We enjoyed a pre-show of looking at princess costumes.

And seeing a real live princess close up... Cinderella.
I love how Amelia wanted to dress up in a favorite dress to wear down there. Since we did a bit of walking from the train to dinner to the show she wore boots for the ride and changed to "fancy shoes." for the event. She had everything perfectly planned.

I love how big Amelia is getting and how old she acts and that we can do fun events like this. She listens so well, is good mannered, and just a joy to be with. Her brother is in the 2 stage and a very active busy boy!!

Waiting for the show to start. Watching her excitement reminded me of when I went to a Disney on Ice show as a child and how the memories of such events stay with you forever
The price of a snowcone and program have sure gone up since the 80's!!

Rochester Fun

Last weekend we went to Rochester. Grandma and Grandpa took us to a new indoor playground called pipsqueeks. The kids enjoyed the roller coaster, play toys, trains, etc.

Another highlight of the weekend was getting new pillowpets.

Thanks G&G for a fun weekend. Too bad we came home with colds :(
