Another Princess story

Amelia is still very into princess and it is one of her most clear words. Recently we were going out to buy more things for our Texas trip. (we are leaving in a few days so this may be my last post pre-trip.) I had told Amelia we could get sunglasses and I had a few other things to pick up at Target. We were going to exchange a pair of sandels but they didn't have her size and I found some princess ones that were cheaper and fit better. We then picked up her sunglasses, some princess socks that were on sale, princess PJ's (also on sale), and more princess pull -ups. Amelia of course insisted on carrying most of it. For those of you that have lost count here are the princess things we picked up at Target:
Princess glasses, socks , shoes, 2 pairs of pj's and pull-ups.
For those of you thinking I spoil her with princess things I did say no the princess cup, comb, and shirt we saw! Also for those of you wondering, Samuel did not get anything this trip but calmly came along for the ride.

Ready for bed... princess Pj's, socks, sunglasses while reading Cinderella

Trip to the Park

The weather is finally getting warm and staying there for more than just one day... I'm loving it! We have spent a lot of time outside, and taken several trips to our closest park. This was the first time I took both kids by myself. I also believe it was Samuel's first time there this season. Here Amelia is showing off the park to him. She acts as if it is her park alone! Usually we are the only ones there, though lately we have met some young girls close to Amelia's age. She loves to interact with them and run around the sand. How great to have a park 3 blocks from our house!

Samuel and Amelia love the swings

Enjoying the slide. Mostly they just sit at the bottom and Amelia likes to pile the sand up on it

Oh Boy, The Easter bunny has arrived!

Amelia got these cute Rabbit ears from Great Nonnie. She loved hopping around the house in them. It is such a joy to see her excitement about things.
We hope you all had a blessed Easter.

Happy Easter

This last weekend we headed down to Rochester to celebrate Easter and David's 30th Birthday (a good friday celebration!) We were fortunate to be able to see David's Nonnie too. These pictures got a bit out of order. Above is the attempt at a picture after church... we woke Samuel up from his car seat nap so his was not up for this... I can just see the caption above his head "Why me?"

A family picture after the Easter egg hunt. Amelia found them all. Just wait for next year when she has some competition from Samuel.

"I found them!" We think she mostly wanted the ca-ca (candy) inside

Looking hard for them.

Busy Weekend

This past weekend was filled with lots of activities. David had Wed-Friday off so we enjoyed an extended time together. We did a few projects around the house and mostly I got some time to do scrapbooking and errands without the kids. On Saturday our church hosted a Dad/Daughter breakfast. For the first time David decided to take Amelia. She got all dressed up (in a dress of course) and off they went to church. I wanted to take a picture of the two of them but Amelia insisted Samuel had to be in the picture too. It is so cute to see Amelia and David go off together. She is truelly Daddy's girl and hopefully they will be good friends for years to come. By the way Samuel and I went clothes shopping. The irony of that seemed so funny to me.

Pre- Easter pictures. Since we will be in Rochester for Easter, I had Amelia wear her Easter dress this sunday to Oakhill. It will also be the dress she wears to the wedding in Houston. Here are some attempts at getting two to smile.

On Palm Sunday the kids sang up front. Amelia did great for the practice but then went running down the middle aisle yelling mommy during the performance. I was in the back because I had nursery duty. I would direct you to our friends website for a great video of Amelia. Oh well there is always next year!

So Big

Samuel's new favorite thing to do is to sit up by himself. He would rather do that than be in his swing or bouncer. He can maintain sitting for quite awhile too. He is getting to be such a little man. He is still quite the charmer... especially to the ladies! Where has my little baby gone?

We are again trying potty training with Amelia. She had seemed very into it and then backed away from it and would scream if we put her on the toilet. She does however want to wear the princess pull-ups so we are giving it another try. She will go if we time it right but still does not tell us ahead of time. It's some progress but I think it's going to be awhile still.

Here she was pointing at me going "No mommy" Notice Blankie is a must when going potty

The End of an Era

Tonight is the last and final ER. I have watched this show pretty faithfully for the 15 years it has been on. It is funny to look back and think about all the things that have happened to me in the time I have been watching this show.

The time in high school when I was "kidnapped" by my friends for a surprise 18th birthday party. My real party was going to be on Friday, but they surprised me with a large party at a local restaurant. I still remember when we got there one of them saying they were taping ER for me!

The many Thurs. nights I watched it while studying in Nursing school, sure that watching this medical show would give me much more knowledge of my field than studying from the book.

The Thurs nights living with girls in Moorhead that this was the last show on the Thurs. night line-up. We would often host friends over that night to hang out, watch TV , and eat good food. It was some of these nights that a shy Dave Baird would come over and hang out with the group.

Many Thurs. nights it would be my way to wind down after a long 12 hour shift at the hospital. I could always feel like I was part of the show because I was a nurse.

Lately it has been a show I enjoy watching after the kids have gone to bed. This season especially has been a fond look back at many wonderful characters. George Clooney came back!!

So tonight I will say good-bye to this favorite show (I know it will live on in re-runs), and remember fondly all the good times that have taken place surrounding this show.
