Amelia's New Room

After months of working/planning Amelia's room we are mostly done with it. She has been sleeping there since June but we have continued to add finishing touches and except for a few pictures on order- it is done!!
View from the door (this is our old office for those familiar with your house)

The bedding is not always on the bed- with a 22month old who sometimes still undresses or pees thourgh her diaper I have decided to leave the quilt and pillows off till she is older

This is her bookcase and wall shelves with Grandma's cross-stitch hanging-- you can tell I took these on a day when Amelia was at daycare because things are actually on the shelves!! She loves her room but is not so good at staying in her bed, especially at naptime-- it can take over an hour for her to go to sleep- she had this problem in her crib but at least there she was confined. We don't normally leave this much stuff on the shelves either as distraction for her.

The toybox that Grandpa and Daddy made-- it now has a new coat of paint and wallies (flowers on it)

Celing fan-- this was an afterthought and put in last weekend- with much work from Daddy. We wanted a new light and while I have never been a a "fan" of fans I fell in love with this girly one!!

Another view of the bedding-- the bed is still just on the boxspring so Amelia can climb in and out easily. Once she falls asleep she stays nicely in her bed for the whole night. Notice the wallhanging behind-- something I had picked up at the Inspiration point quilt auction years ago. I got quite a bit of ribbing when I bought this-- "why something so pink!" everyone said. I think now it has a perfect use!!

The Nursery is now being converted back to the Nursery for Baby #2-- our project for this weekend is to bring out the baby stuff. I think Amelia thinks that both rooms are now hers to play in and when we talk about the babies she means her many babies. She has been using the swing, crib and bouncer for her babies and loves having all these new toys!! What a shock it will be when something live and moving goes in there!!
