Baking with mom

Today I decided to bake cookies with Amelia-- she is such a good helper. I found the easiest Peanut butter recipe in my Parent magazine-- 1 cup peanut butter, 1cup sugar, 1 egg, stir together, roll in balls, coat in sugar, press down with fork, bake at 375 for approx 10 minutes. They were so easy and Amelia enjoyed stirring them together and putting the sugar on.

Watching her work was so cute-- notice I put my apron on her- -I think i will have to find or make a child size apron for her. It was a little harder to explain the concept of baking-- that they would take 10 minutes to bake. She sat in her chair patiently waiting for them to be done. She kept saying "cook" meaning cookie and pointing to her mouth to remind me that she should get one when they were done.

Here we are enjoying our cookies-- you can tell she liked it because she makes her cheesy smile and stops for the picture-- normally she turns away or hides her face when I try to take her picture. I guess her pride in her cookies was worth taking a picture of!

The cooks!
( I'll have to practice the self portrait thing a bit better.)

I think you two are ready to take your cookie business on the carnival run! I remember those days. Soon she will grow up and love to bake AND love to leave you with the mess to clean up! :) I am speaking from experience.
