This is my neighbor's tree that I see from the chair where I sit and feed Samuel. I spend lots of hours in this chair and often enjoy looking out the window at the things going on outside or the people passing by. Lately I had been lamenting that we had not been doing many "fall" things since Samuel came (we had not been to an orchard or pumpkin patch, gone hiking in the woods, or taken any weekend trips) Sometimes when sitting in this chair I start to feel sorry for myself or wonder how the day will go with two kids. How do you find time to get everything done I ask myself? Then one day it hit me... this is the season of life I'm in right now. Short nights, frequent feedings, diaper changes, mood swings (mine and the kids!)Then I looked up and saw this beautiful tree and realized that God was allowing me to see the changing seasons from this chair. No, it was not a whole field of trees I was standing in, but it was still beautiful and it was right before my eyes. There will be a time when I will be out in the field, on a hike, in a pumpkin patch but for now I was meant to be at home viewing God's creation while feeding my little one. This "season" will not last for long either. Soon they will be growing up, sleeping through the night, going to school, and moving along. God intended that we should enjoy each time because "There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven." How thankful I am for this lesson! I realize this post is a lot more serious than most.. don't worry I'll soon post more pictures of the kids.
Have a great day and hope you are enjoying God's changing seasons.
