(my interpretation, not hers but by the picture I think this is what she would have said!)
Recently we have been having Amelia's Speech evaluated as she seems to be a late talker. Bloomington has a great program through the school district and public health where they come and evaulate you. They had seen her in August and decided to come back after her 2nd birthday and evaluate her again to see if she would qualify for speech therapy. This week they came back again and determined she had improved. Still not understandable by a lot of people but not bad enough to meet standards for theapy. Go figure! She has made progress and is trying really hard. She does love when they come out because they bring all sorts of fun games and toys. The public health nurse came again as she wanted to practice a new screening tool she is trying to learn. Amelia scored off the charts at her problem solving and cognitive development. It was so much fun to watch Amelia and see how much she has grown. The words will come I guess!! One comment they made though was to have her reevaluated by her ENT as her words sounded like she might have fluid in the middle ear. Our MD at her 2 yr check had also commented that she had fluid there and the one tube was out (but still in the ear). So the short of this whole long story is that we made another trip to the ENT to reevalute her for tube placement. Mom of course wanted to get it done before she goes back to work in November.... anyways we are going to wait to scheudle the procedure till end of November, early december and cancel if the fluid is gone-- we will keep you posted.
