Family Party

This weekend was the combined kids family party. We had a Dora and Diego theme (we had to have something that included boys and girls things.) We enjoyed that the Grandparents and Bryan and Stacy could be here. We missed you Kim and Kevin and Jim and Cari.

I again made the cake this year. I was lamenting to David that Happy Birthday was a long word to spell out with frosting. He came up with the idea to say, "Vamonos" (Let's Go) from Dora. I thought it was something a little different.

Everyone enjoyed a great meal of grilled steak and chicken.

Then, it was on to gift opening.

Amelia is showing off her princess coloring set from Kim and Kevin. Her eyes seem to close on every picture though.

Modeling the sweatshirts sent from Nonnie.

David showing Samuel how his semi truck filled with cars works.

Amelia opening her gift from us... a leapster.

The kids had such a great time with everyone, and loved their presents. It almost felt like Christmas as they got so many wonderful new things all at once. They stayed up a little later playing with trains, cars, trucks, tea-sets, polly pocket, and many other things. They were also up early to play again. It's so much fun to have a birthday.
