After weeks of work (delayed by our rainy cool fall) the shed is done. The painting will have to wait till warmer weather (next spring). But it is sealed up and tight. In the foreground you can see our other project... our garden plot. We need to build it up and add the dirt but at least the base is down. We are trying to set a record for how many project we can work on at a time.
Recently on our trip to Decorah, David and I had some great quiet time to discuss things. We got discussing our basement and it's lack of heat in the main family room. I have always thought those little electric units are cute and might look nice. Pretty soon the discussion went something like this... Well if you're going to add a fireplace you might as well add an gas one, and if your going to do that you might as well take the paneling off, and if you're going to do that you might as well add new lighting, and if you're going to do that you might as well run wire for speakers. Our contractor added to the fun when he said... well if you're going to do this you might as well add built in book cases on either side the of the fireplace. So here we are... mapping out our house projects in Phases. We had written out Phases (steps) to complete the project in. It was so cute the other morning, because I came out and David had written a note to himself Phases of sound system... Phase 1, 2,3 etc. Cute!
I realized how much of our lives is in Phases.... Phases the kids are in, Phases of work, friends, weather, etc.
Amelia is in the preschool, potty training, independent, imaginative, role playing, dress-up phase
Samuel is in the follow big sister, get into everything, climb on, laughing, busy busy phase.
David and I are in the keeping up with them phase.
By the way if anyone is interested the 47' TV in the picture is for sale. David will be getting a new flat screen for above the fireplace.
